In September 2016 Google changes Google Apps for Education to G Suite for Education. So what is this and how has it changed?

K to 12 (also K-12) is an education system implemented by the Department of Education. "K" means Kindergarten while "12" represents the succeeding 12 years of basic education (6 years in elementary, 4 years in junior high school, and 2 years in senior high school). This is a move made by the government to ensure that every student is competently equipped with enhanced basic life skills for lifelong learning and employment here and abroad.

The realization that educators work can alter the brain and body neurologically, biologically and chemically, shaping the finite signature of a child, offers a powerful foundation for rethinking one's philosophy of teaching. Anne-Marie Rollo shares in this talk the power of teaching in the 21st century. With a background in both physiology and education, Anne-Marie Rollo is interested in researching the intersection between neuroscience and education.

She completed her first degree from the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies from the University of Regina.

She was awarded the University Prize and the prestigious President’s Medal for the most distinguished graduate and exceptional community leadership for her work with the Acquired Brain Injury Partnership Project at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre.

Realizing her passion for working alongside children, Anne-Marie returned to complete her education degree and taught in a primary classroom in Saskatoon for 10 years. Her interest in physiology and the application of brain science to classroom teaching led Anne-Marie to complete her Master of Education in Curriculum Studies at the University of Saskatchewan.

ABOUT MALALA YOUSAFZAI:
Malala Yousafzai (born 12th July 1997) is a Pakistani school pupil and education activist from the town of Mingora in the Swat District of Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. She is known for her activism for rights to education and for women, especially in the Swat Valley, where the Taliban had at times banned girls from attending school. In early 2009, at the age of 11--12, Yousafzai wrote a blog under a pseudonym for the BBC detailing her life under Taliban rule, their attempts to take control of the valley, and her views on promoting education for girls. The following summer, a New York Times documentary was filmed about her life as the Pakistani military intervened in the region, culminating in the Second Battle of Swat. Yousafzai rose in prominence, giving interviews in print and on television, and she was nominated for the International Children's Peace Prize by South African activist Desmond Tutu.

Al Vernacchio is a Human Sexuality educator and consultant, and spends his time publishing, lecturing, and holding workshops around sexual topics. Vernacchio has given two TED talks about his work, and has published the book For Goodness Sex: Changing the Way We Talk to Teens about Sexuality, Values, and Health. About the author:
Guy Spier is a Zurich based investor. In June 2007 he made headlines by bidding US$650,100 with Mohnish Pabrai for a charity lunch with Warren Buffett. Since 1997 he has managed Aquamarine Fund, an investment partnership inspired by, and styled after the original 1950′s Buffett partnerships.

Prior to starting Aquamarine Fund, Spier worked as an investment banker in New York, and as a management consultant in London and Paris.

Mr. Spier completed his MBA at the Harvard Business School, class of 1993, and holds a First Class degree in PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics) from Oxford University. Upon graduating, he was co-awarded the George Webb Medley prize for the best performance in that year in Economics. While at Oxford he was a contemporary of David Cameron at Brasenose and attended economics tutorials with him.

Spier is the CEO of the Spier family office. He also serves on the advisory board of Horasis, and is a co-host of TEDxZurich.

Spier is a member of YPO, EO, Zurich Minds and the Latticework Club.

Professor Roni Ellington has served on the faculty at Morgan State University since 2006. Her work focuses on mathematics education. Research interests include understanding the experiences of high achieving mathematics students, STEM education, and teacher professional development.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
