He told his inspiring story of how he founded the not-for-profit Khan Academy and how the organization is educating millions of people worldwide. Sal also shared his thoughts on what education reimagined could look like and how his dream of "providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere" could become a reality.

The realization that educators work can alter the brain and body neurologically, biologically and chemically, shaping the finite signature of a child, offers a powerful foundation for rethinking one's philosophy of teaching. Anne-Marie Rollo shares in this talk the power of teaching in the 21st century. With a background in both physiology and education, Anne-Marie Rollo is interested in researching the intersection between neuroscience and education.

She completed her first degree from the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies from the University of Regina.

She was awarded the University Prize and the prestigious President’s Medal for the most distinguished graduate and exceptional community leadership for her work with the Acquired Brain Injury Partnership Project at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre.

Realizing her passion for working alongside children, Anne-Marie returned to complete her education degree and taught in a primary classroom in Saskatoon for 10 years. Her interest in physiology and the application of brain science to classroom teaching led Anne-Marie to complete her Master of Education in Curriculum Studies at the University of Saskatchewan.

ABOUT MALALA YOUSAFZAI:
Malala Yousafzai (born 12th July 1997) is a Pakistani school pupil and education activist from the town of Mingora in the Swat District of Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. She is known for her activism for rights to education and for women, especially in the Swat Valley, where the Taliban had at times banned girls from attending school. In early 2009, at the age of 11--12, Yousafzai wrote a blog under a pseudonym for the BBC detailing her life under Taliban rule, their attempts to take control of the valley, and her views on promoting education for girls. The following summer, a New York Times documentary was filmed about her life as the Pakistani military intervened in the region, culminating in the Second Battle of Swat. Yousafzai rose in prominence, giving interviews in print and on television, and she was nominated for the International Children's Peace Prize by South African activist Desmond Tutu.

Al Vernacchio is a Human Sexuality educator and consultant, and spends his time publishing, lecturing, and holding workshops around sexual topics. Vernacchio has given two TED talks about his work, and has published the book For Goodness Sex: Changing the Way We Talk to Teens about Sexuality, Values, and Health. He was also featured in New York Times Magazine’s cover story “Teaching Good Sex”, which profiled his approach to teaching. About the author:
Guy Spier is a Zurich based investor. In June 2007 he made headlines by bidding US$650,100 with Mohnish Pabrai for a charity lunch with Warren Buffett. Since 1997 he has managed Aquamarine Fund, an investment partnership inspired by, and styled after the original 1950′s Buffett partnerships.

Prior to starting Aquamarine Fund, Spier worked as an investment banker in New York, and as a management consultant in London and Paris.

Mr. Spier completed his MBA at the Harvard Business School, class of 1993, and holds a First Class degree in PPE (Politics, Philosophy and Economics) from Oxford University. Upon graduating, he was co-awarded the George Webb Medley prize for the best performance in that year in Economics. While at Oxford he was a contemporary of David Cameron at Brasenose and attended economics tutorials with him.

Spier is the CEO of the Spier family office. He also serves on the advisory board of Horasis, and is a co-host of TEDxZurich.

Spier is a member of YPO, EO, Zurich Minds and the Latticework Club.

Aquamarine has offices in New York, London and Zurich where Mr. Spier currently resides with his wife Lory and their three children, Eva, Isaac and Sarah.

SUNDAY OLISEH Sunday Oliseh always loved football. His career evolved from playing on the streets of Lagos to the Julius Berger FC, from where he was invited to Belgium to start an incredible professional career. At the club level, he was part of the famous Ajax team of the 1990′s with whom he won the league and cup double in 1998. He went on to have an illustrious career with Borussia Dortmund with whom he won the German league title and with Juventus F.C. Sunday Oliseh played 63 international matches for Nigeria. From 1994, he was also part of the team, many still consider Nigeria’s best ever that was crowned African champions, winning the title in a an emphatic manner against Zambia. This ushered Nigeria unto the world stage as a force to reckon with in world soccer. The team went on to take Nigeria to its first ever World Cup. Oliseh was a tough defensive midfielder but still scored four goals for Nigeria, and will be mostly remembered for scoring the winning goal; a cracker, in the group stage match against Spain in the 1998 World Cup, leading Nigeria to a historic 3–2 win. He went on to captain Nigeria for many years including during the during the 2002 African Cup of Nations. In 1996, Oliseh was again part of history as he was a key member of the team that Nigeria that won the Olympics gold medal for soccer. He was voted by the Confederation of African Football as the third best African player of the year in 1998. Today, he is one of the most respected voices on soccer and appears on several TV programmes around the world.
