At only $30, the Wyze Cam Pan is one of the more affordable security cameras I’ve reviewed, but that doesn’t mean it skimps on quality. On the contrary, it features 1080p HD video, a nice field of view of 120 degrees, and the ability to zoom in eight times, crushing industry standards. It also has infrared night vision from six LED lights, which I prefer over bright white lights, two-way audio, free local and cloud storage for 14 days, plus integrations with Amazon Alexa and IFTTT.

So what is the Wyze Cam Pan missing? Well, it doesn’t have person detection, so you might receive some unnecessary notifications from your dog, cars, or any other moving objects. The camera does, however, have smart sound recognition for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, turning your regular monitors into smart ones. You’ll monitor everything from the Wyze app, which currently has ratings of 3.5 from both iPhone and Android users. This is an indoor camera for the books!
