Education workers give strike notice for Oct. 7
A looming strike by thousands of education workers could mean they hit the picket lines in the middle of the federal election. The Canadian Union of Public Employees, which represents 55,000 education workers, says it has given the legally required five day’s notice to begin a strike. The workers, including custodians, clerical workers and early childhood educators, started a work-to-rule campaign this week. (October 2, 2019.)
