I had trouble getting this phone to connect to ATT, but I am sure there is a way to get it to work. I am never able to get these budget or clone phones to work on my network.

This phone would be great as a second phone for emergencies or just a back up.

Having been a republic wireless member for 3 months now, it’s time for an official review. I’ll break this review into the different aspects of purchasing and using the Republic Wireless service.


Republic Wireless is like any other tech startup - with it’s slick website design and minimalistic options. I really dig it, and it was easy to pick out the phone I wanted. Back in May 2015, the options were the Moto X for $299 or the Moto G for $149. I picked the Moto G because of the cheaper price point, and because I was already making a big step up from my 5+ year old LG flip phone.

With Republic Wireless, you have to pay up front for one of their phones which has their special software installed. It’s based off of the Android system, so you’ll get all of the apps in the Google Play store.


Choosing a Plan

The beauty of Republic Wireless is the lack of contracts and the multiple options for data and/or cell coverage.

The Plans:

All plans include Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data over wifi. And they include unlimited Talk, Text, and your choice of Data coverage over cell.

$5 Starting at $5, you can get a phone that makes calls over Wifi. This is a great option for a work phone in your office. But it won’t help if you’re Republic Wireless Plandriving around town.
$10* This is the base plan which includes cell coverage with no data. This is the plan that I chose. Again, switching from a dumb phone to a smart phone was a big enough step. I hate the idea of being connected 24/7, so this plan allows me to not get emails and Facebook requests when I’m out enjoying the world. It does easily connect to Wifi whenever I need it to (which is in most stores, restaurants, schools, places now).
Above the basic no-data plans are several Data plans. Since I purchased, there are new options. They include:

$17.50 for 0.5 GB of data
$25 for 1 GB of data
$40 for 2 GB of data
$55 for 3 GB of data
All of these prices are very competitive because you don’t have to pay any other monthly fees. There are no contracts. And you can actually upgrade or downgrade your plan whenever you want.

Bonus, you’ll get paid for data that you don’t use. So if you get the $40 2 GB plan but only use 1.5 GB of data, you’ll only be charged $32.50 (or $7.50 off for the unused data).

Someday, I might want data coverage. Republic Wireless allows me to switch my plan whenever.

The best part about my plan: Each month, I am billed a total of $11.19 - that’s it!

Who is Republic Wireless for?

Anyone who wants a cheaper and more flexible phone plan
Anyone who doesn’t care about the specific phone they use (no iPhone or Galaxy users here!)
Anyone who can do a little trouble shooting that comes with having an Android device
Anyone who doesn’t want a contract anchoring them down
Anyone who likes supporting smaller companies that make the world a better place

Vivo V11 Pro design

The build and finishing is too good, handset looks a lot different though the body is plastic the back looks really different / unique and eye catchy, specially the starry night color variant. Do check the video to know more. Handset is light weight, and comfortable to hold and use.

The Super AMOLED screen is vibrant, but the unique thing is the waterdrop display notch that looks a lot different and gives a new look to handset, plus offers more screen usage space to the user.

V11 Pro Performance

This is Snapdragon 660 AIE octa core powered, powerful enough, can play PUBG game (check Vivo V11 Pro video review listed below). Handset hardly heats up and processor is power efficient.

I did not find any issue with networks, sound is loud and clear. The finger print sensor is very fast almost instant and add to it the face unlock is equally impressive. The in-display finger print technology is 4th gen and much improved with better detection and accuracy, plus you can use both finger print and face unlock together, whichever detects first.

Vivo V11 Pro Camera

On the rear there is a 12 MP + 5 MP dual cameras with 2 PD Technology AI Backlight HDR, front camera is a 25MP shooter. Both the rear and front camera performance is excellent thanks to dual pixel technology check the samples below. Both front as well as rear cameras can shoot in portrait mode (bokeh).

The V11 Pro camera works great in any lighting conditions, plus there are a lot of interesting features, check video review. This handset can shoot FHD videos and slow motion videos you can find the sample shots in the V11 Pro video review.

Battery performance

The 3400 mAh battery supports Vivo Dual-Engine Fast Charging, that charges the battery at rapid speeds. There are two charging chips - this tech can charge battery much faster and is pretty safe.

It took me 1 hour 30 minutes for a full charge and on a full charge you can get up to 1 day of mixed usage, even more based on your usage pattern.

Verdict

The handset is beautiful, it's powerful and camera quality is pretty impressive. Vivo V11 Pro Price in India is Rs. 25,999. The price looks really good considering the unique looks and the impressive camera quality.
